you're a new mom. or maybe you have a few kids already and just brought your newborn home.

you're trying to figure out how to balance your new life and baby and family...

when suddenly, the mom guilt hits.

it'll eat you alive if you let it.

I'm here to tell you, you don't need to feel guilty for anything. it's much easier said than done, so here are three things to never feel guilty for as a new mom.

Never Feel Guilty For...

  1. holding your baby. Seriously, why do we feel guilty when we do this!? You've waited 9 months to hold your precious baby. The dishes can wait. Cleaning can wait. Grandparents can wait their turn. Bonding with your baby is the most important thing for you and your baby during postpartum, and one of the best ways to do this is to hold them.
  2. how you feed them. Fed is best! Whether you are breastfeeding, formula feeding, exclusively pumping or combo feeding, you are giving your baby the nutrients he or she needs. All of the choices are hard, but they are all equally important in allowing your baby to grow and develop. With that being said- never feel guilty for feeding your baby in a public place!
  3. saying yes or no. Whatever that means for you. If someone is offering to help, feel free to say yes to the help without feeling like it's a burden. Accept their offer! If someone wants to visit but you aren't up for it? Say no, without feeling guilty. They can stop by another time, when you are up for visitors. This is only the beginning of setting boundaries as a parent, so I highly encourage you to stick to what makes you feel comfortable.

i hope these tips help you feel guilt-free in your new role as a mom to your baby!
